Hello from Idaho

Hello all, just purchased a 2021 Cougar Half Ton 29RLDWE, not our 1st but definitely our nicest. We’ve spent the last 20+ years in pop-ups. Tow vehicle is a 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve. Our kids are grown and We’re planning to retire and hit the road a few months a year!

Not to dampen your enthusiasm, but you may want to crunch the numbers from your Nissan's drivers door post. That's a 33'+ long 9500 lb GVWR rv with a tongue weight of 1200+ lbs on the rear of a vehicle that wasn't designed to carry a lot of payload (probably less than 1500 lbs).
Typically the "half ton" part of that rv model doesn't necessarily mean a 1/2 ton tow vehicle is necessarily enough the handle it, mostly a sales gimmick.
Post a picture of the yellow/white sticker from your door post & from here you'll get the straight answers on your vehicles ability, not the BS the dealer may have told you.

Welcome the the forum from W TX!

As has been noted, that trailer is a 9500lb. gvw and pushing 36' in length....behind a Nissan. The best I can pull for that truck is around 1300lbs payload. At gvw that trailer, alone, will put 1235 tongue weight on the Nissan at 13%. As you said, it's your nicest trailer but with that comes the problem of having a big enough tow vehicle. Just something to think about. The Japanese, to this day, have not figured out what a "tow" truck needs to be. Just a heads up and an action item IMO.

Welcome from a newer Fruitland ID resident, spend 63 years in what was a beautiful, safe place, Portland Oregon. Yes, it was once a really nice place to live.

What is the payload of your new tv? Curious; the 3/4 tons have a huge range.

You will certainly like the tow a bit more with the 3/4 ton. I have a very similar trailer and started out towing it with an F150. I did it, but sure feel much better with the F350!

Enjoy!

The payload should be good and you will enjoy pulling the trailer a lot more with that more capable truck. BTW: The towing capacity is a marketing exaggeration and should never be used to determine the capability of a truck. The payload should.
