We made the most of it
No issues with truck or trailer.
Gas readily available and prices vary.
Yellowstone will be limited for a spell, with only the south loop open.
That is where you find Old Faithful and lower geyser basin, and many pools and hot springs.
It's not my favorite part of the park, a once see and you've seen it
West Yellowstone gate to south gate will be open, but on a odd and even entry license plate restriction, as well as road repair delays, but it will allow you to stay at West Yellowstone and visit the Grand Tetons, or visa versa....
Lots of other stuff to do in the area, just really spread out, and extra money on gas.
On a side note, we stayed at Wallace RV Park in Wallace Idaho, on the way back.....
we LOVED IT!
We camped right on the creek, the end of my trailer almost hanging out over the creek, it lulled you to sleep at night.
Full hook up so close to water was very sweet.
Great food right at the park and a old mining town within walking distance.
The town of Wallace looks like COVID hit it good, business wise, but it seems to be making a come back, vert neat old buildings, etc....
As to Yellowstone, we decided with the kids to wait a couple years before we try and go back, just to far to travel to see a limited park on a limited schedule....
HOWEVER, if you live within a reasonable distance, it could be a great time to see Old Faithful, etc, without the usual summer crowds?????
