Sewage smell

We have a 2020 Keystone Passport GT. We were flushing the tanks and inadvertently did not unplug the sewage plug. The result was sewage backed up behind the fuse box and into the heating system rear vent. Is there any way to effectively clean this? The RV was in storage over winter and ha ms a horrible stench.

It can be cleaned, but not easily. If you have insurance, you might want to call and file a claim.

If the heating ducts are contaminated, there's a good chance that the sewage also leaked out of the ductwork and has also contaminated the underbelly. That will mean removing the bottom structure, cleaning/disinfecting the entire area, possibly replacing any contaminated insulation that is above the coroplast/DARCO bottom liner.

If you try to "just clean it and dry things out" the first time you get into a high humidity/condensation condition, it will all come back to haunt you....

Wow! You are talking about some major work to clean up that mess. As stated above, contact your insurance agent. The cost for work involved to clean up the mess may exceed the value of the camper and they may just consider the trailer a total loss.

No matter how hard you try to clean up "that" mess you'll miss some somewhere, and when you turn your heat on, or the weather gets hot ... you will have a constant reminder!

I think yours is a good candidate for a total loss!

Find someone like me who had covid and has no smell any longer. Tell them you got them a deal on a camper. Lol
