Question satellite

Help, Does anyone know how to get past the cable problem to be able to hook up the satellite to the cable connection on the camper. It will not let the signal through.

Not 100% familiar with the layout on your unit, but I do know that the satellite receivers will not be happy if they have to go through any sort of standard "splitter".

The satellite box actually supplies voltage (approximately 13 VDC) to the LNB on the dish, and the cheesy splitters that are commonly used will not allow that voltage through - so you are unable to power the LNB.

If you can trace down the wiring, look for a "multiswitch" made for satellite applications - they allow the power through. Not sure how well it will work with the other TVs in the camper though.

Unhappy satellite

Thanks for the response. I have a 2008 Hornet FKS. It is not preped for sat.
I took the plate off when I first bought it and took off one of three cables from the tv hook up and added a new coax plate and hooked that coax to the new plate. The satellite now comes through the cable port but does not go to the bedroom. I would like to get it to do that. Was better than drilling through the outside and still wouldn't go to the bedroom. I don't remember seeing a splitter but it has been a couple of years. I will look again. I am thinking that the splitter is the tv plate and when the amp. is off it allows the park cable to come through. That would go to all tv's. Satellite needs to travel back and forth through the cable and can't do that through the tv antenna plate. Thanks again.
