2011 Sydney 329FBH Winter use

Need experiences and advice on using RV off and on all winter months in north Georgia mountains. Has standard "Polar" pkg; ie enclosd and heated underbelly.

With my previous 2005 Hornet TT, simply drained water heater; low point drains; fresh water tank; air compressor, blew out lines.... a little RV anti freeze in all drains; in toilet and black tank.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

The "heated underbelly" will only be heated when your furnace is operating. Otherwise, that area will not receive any warm air. The "Polar Package" won't offer much protection for long periods of continuous freezing temperatures. There are too many openings, especially around pipes, in the black coroplast underbelly which will allow cold air to access the "enclosed" area. It is not at all well-sealed.
What you have done previously should be sufficient.

Thanks for the insight. I also use "heat tape" when "on spot" to keep the water flowing into the RV. I keep this RV on a set site with full hook ups 100%of the time. This winter we plan on taking the rig to Florida for a month.

Soooo, I assume the winter package is only effective when we are nearby and can ensure the furnace is kicking heat frequently to the underbelly.

I am assuming you know that if you drain your H/W heater, plug your unit in to shore power and accidently turn on the hot water switch, you will fry the innards of your H/W tank. On our unit, there is a black rocker switch located in H/W exterior access panel, that needs to be turned to the "OFF" position to prevent this accidental switching from happening. Being a different model, yours may not have one.
