Omni direction disk tv antenna free spins

I searched and didn’t find anything on this. I don’t have a manual and there is no branding label on it. Today I removed my cover and noticed the tv antenna free spins which seems like endless so I don’t think it’s threaded on the pipe it’s on. I also can’t just pull it up and off like it feels like it might. Can’t find any fasteners holding it on or fastener holes that might be used to lock it in place. All that being said it is normal to free spin like that? How does it come off?

You might have a Winegard Rayzr, which isn’t an Omni-directional antenna but has been pretty common on newer rigs. They have also had a lot of trouble breaking in the shaft. It’s a common issue. Many, like us, replace them with a Winegard 360+, which is a true Omni-directional antenna.

Looks like the majestic ufo x. Searching Google. Hmm even if it is working it’s crap. Probably just upgrade it anyways. Thanks for the response.

I have the semi-flat circular black omni-directional antenna. It is kind of loose and floppy up there on it’s post, but it has held on for 25,000 miles and 3 Northeast winters so far. I saw the base in the ceing when I replaced the speakers and there is just s coax csble connection. We don’t use it for anything (wife streams Sirius/XM from her phone through the stereo and kiddo uses the FireStick to stream movies on a rainy day). But for those that want/need a better solution, the Winegard 360+ is the way to go.

To remove it, pull off all the Dicor sealant from around the base to expose the mounting screws, remove the screws and gently pull up in the while unit until you can disconnect the coax.

Thanks I was going to ask how to get the old one off.
