Construction Debris

How long does it take for all the debris to finally blow out of the A/C ducts ?? Had my 5er almost a year and it is still coming out when I first turn the A/Cs on.

On ours, it only took a few times of using the A/C.

I guess it would all depend on how much "debris" was actually in the ducts to begin with.

I would just say no telling. Who knows how much of what was left in there. Mine is just over 2 years old and I still climb up and empty a couple of the LED covers in living area of sawdust from time to time.

Just be thankful that it comes out! Like flatulence, better to get it out then have have it trapped inside.

There’s usually plenty debris and sawdust hiding in the nooks and cranny’s. I also pull off the kitchen LED’s to dump out the sawdust. Also have to vacuum around the kitchen island almost every trip. It’s all part of the charm…

AC ducts are fine but after 15 months we still find sawdust and the occasional screw every time we travel on the wonderful smooth interstates.

I would say that this is an indication that the ductwork from the AC unit to the vents is open/not sealed somewhere. When traveling the crap that is between the roof and the ceiling migrates in there....until you turn it back on.

Very good point. It is a good thing that it blows out indicating the ducts are open. Thanks.

Ours is a 2014, purchased in July 2013. We've got over 60K miles towing it and every trip we find something loose, a hinge pulled out of the stile, sawdust on the stovetop (from the microwave or the range hood), sawdust in a light fixture or some other "indication that it's still leaving us samples of what was used to manufacture it.....

Just think of all the money Keystone saves in waste removal costs by shipping out most of the waste with the trailer. I am sure they pass that savings on to you. I wish I would have taken a photo of the scraps I found under the stairs when I removed them for a mod on duct work.

I lucked out. In addition to all the free debris I got a small stack of shop towels in this one!!

No different than a newly built home except the construction debris isn't being shaked out of it. With our fine roads these days the inside of a trailer must look like the inside of a snow globe strapped to a paint mixer.
