NM National Forests are Closed.

FYI, Due to the dry conditions and wild fires, New Mexico has closed or heavily restricted use in all five national forests.

Guess we won’t be doing any local camping anytime soon. Praying for some much needed rain over here.

The smoke from the black fire is miserable 25 miles from my house . There is rain up north for the calf fire Las Vegas NM. I spent a week last year in Las Vegas NM beautiful country in the high mountains it’s gone from fire . I’ll be camping at Red river after the fourth private RV park .The main through roads in and out of the forest will still be open but all the mountain rest stops maybe chained up .

Have any extra, send it our way. Medina Lake is mostly dry and we have been under a burn ban for months. We had a major wildfire they managed to put out about 1 1/2 miles from my home with over 1000 acres burned.

Wish we could send you some of our rain. We are sick of it here. We have probably had 6 days of sunshine.

We normally have a nice view of the mountains from our front porch. Nice to sit out there and watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee in the morning. Now the mountains are a blur through the smoke haze.
