It’s not just a Ford thing, I looked at Ram and Chevy and GMC and the minimum dealer markup over sticker I found was $5,000 for anything on the lot and I looked within 500 miles of my home.

I got lucky and paid no dealer markup, plus I was able to deduct a factory cash incentive and a First Responder appreciation discount. Combined with the equity from my trade, and a very favorable 48 month financing rate, I will never be upside down in my truck’s value.

The current interest on a 7 year car loan is 5 percent or so (I think). Since this is a used truck, guessing it might be a bit higher. Here is what one website said about the loan (7 years @ 5 %) with a $1500 down payment (I based it on $122K)

Loan amount: $120,500.00
Monthly payment: $1,703.14
Sales Tax: $1,220.00
Total Interest: $22,563.43
Total Cost: $145,783.43

IMO, ya gotta be real hard up for a truck to pay that much over window sticker for a used truck with 9700 miles on it. "JUST WOW" !!!!!

who knows if they will even honor THAT price ….back in 2012? i believe i went to the same dealer to buy a black boss 302 laguna seca that they had listed for close to 10k over sticker …special internet price …it was on the showroom floor brand new…i went in and was ready to buy it that day because i still thought it was a good deal because of the future worth…..the salesman acted like he had no idea about the internet price and they didn’t want to sell it for that price …even the mgr acted like i was talking crazy ….I walked out…looking back i’m glad i passed on it as i like the newer body style better

i wonder how the insurance works if you total the truck? guessing you will need “super gap”insurance to cover the loan

Interest rates are not that high, or else my credit score is the reason but I bought a Cadillac Escalade last month for my wife and the rate was 3.74. Who knows, might have went up since then.

The Fed has increased prime to combat the inflation caused by some foreign dictator or previous politician or well, whatever.

Here are the rates at my credit union today for my zip code. I think these may be for used as there was a note: "For vehicles over 100K miles, an additional 1.00% will be added to the rate". I also think credit score is a big factor.

months
7 - 66 2.94% - 15.74%
67 - 75 3.49% - 16.74%
76 - 84 4.54% - 11.94%

Tk market is going to end up like the housing market was. People buy those over priced trucks then when time comes to trade will be so upside down will never be able to get out of it.
I was lucky in my new purchase yes it did take 8 months to get. Msrp was 76,000. Ford plan price 61,000. My trade was 2019 f250 king ranch received 56,000. End result got a new 2022 F350 king ranch financing 43,000. With great financing of 2.5 for 60 months.

Finally (6 month wait) received my new gasser. Luckily I was able to take advantage of the 3year, 0% financing.
With only 25 miles on the clock, the 6L90 transmission failed (wouldn't come out of 2nd gear). Dealer replaced the TCM, then the whole transmission.
Hopefully just a fluke. I have researched and the dealer also said these have been very good transmissions. Not a good start! I will always worry about it now. Running like a champ though and surprisingly I like the 6 speed better than my Ram 8 speed.

Sharp looking truck! I seriously doubt your new tranny will give you a lick of problems. Enjoy it.

It's either wait for a '23 or order a Ram dually. (Which isn't bad, I just prefer the Ford) But the rumor I heard is that the factory currently has enough 2022 Super Duty orders to last until late December, and the order banks for a 2023 won't open till spring.

Is this something you possibly could know if it's true?
I certainly appreciate any insight you could share. Unless you're sworn to secrecy.
There is a new update on Super Duty production. As noted previously, the 2022 order bank is closed as of April 1. Ford released that they will start accepting 2023 Super Duty orders in mid October (about a month later than I had guessed). Currently, Ford plans on building 2022 models through the 3rd week of December. This means that first 2023 deliveries should start happening in January/February.

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I had ordered a 2022 GMC 3500 SRW SLT on 11/17/21. This GMC was built the last week of 01/22 and scheduled for delivery to my dealer mid March 2022. This truck also has a $5k dealer mark up. The end of March I got a notification from the dealer that my truck was one of about 4000 units that had a hydrolock / no start issue.

Initially GMC intended to swap out the Duramax engine and ship it to the dealer with the new engine. Then mid April 2022 GMC decided not to swap engine and my dealer could reorder the same truck with a rush build priority. This order was submitted 4/23/22. The end of May 2022 the "priority" order had not been accepted by GM.

At this point I told the dealer to refund my deposit, which they did and I decided to keep my paid for Ram 2500. And get this, GM still lists the order number for the "priority" order as received from the dealer but not yet accepted. So with the price of everything from diesel fuel to loan rates going up, I am keeping my Ram.

Yep truck issues are everywhere. Took 8 1/2 months to get my new 2022 f25 king ranch. Then it didn’t come with the 5th wheel hitch package or spray in bed liner. Dealer had to install both of them. It’s a mess for sure.

Well thank you for the update! I've been perusing the web looking for any production clues or pictures on the '23. We had a setback for traveling with my DW's shoulder replacement surgury this week. So waiting won't be so bad, because half of our trips are temporarily postponed. So we didn't really have an immediate need to upgrade the RV. Quite honestly the way this whole economy is shaking out, I think a little patience on my part is prudent.

Well get the Ram.
Ram went back to the Bosch CP3, and did a recall on the ones with the Bosch CP4.2, likely too many warranty issues with HPFP failures.
