Yeah, Mr. Fusion was the power source that Doc added to the Delorian on his trip to the future. Still had the flux capacitor for time travel but it no longer used any gasoline. Basically an atomic garbage disposal mounted to the top of the car. Could always connect the black tank to it and use that as a fuel source I suppose.

Relief is on the way (no that's not an Alka Seltzer commercial)... There are "old style gas can spouts" available to retrofit your "make it spill for sure" new style....

You can get them at Tractor Supply, most hardware stores and on Amazon. Here's one link: https://www.amazon.com/Spout-Super-F...a-940404119004

Ha! ^^^^ What were/are they thinking (whoops, that's a loaded question with a foregone answer)? If it was to save fuel or? I've spilled more fuel from those blasted containers in the few years they've been out than the many decades using the normal style. I figure since they've eliminated teaching any type of functional analytical skills in the educational system this is just a sort of "add on" to the back end of the process instituted by the government to further hone those failed efforts.

Gasoline is very volatile, meaning it evaporates quickly. They figured out that you get more pollution from just having a gas can that isn't sealed sitting around in your shed vs. burning the gas in your lawn mower. Same reason for the "new" evaporative control systems in cars over the last few decades leading to a check engine light if your gas cap is slightly loose, and the short-lived requirement to have those rubber boots over the gas pump handles to suck up the fumes.

The change in the gas cans is like most technology changes - the first generation that met the new requirements were horrible. Those ones with the stupid lever on the end are a nightmare to use. The newer styles with a push button are much better. I got one of these recently and it's the best gas can I've ever owned. You just let go of the button and it instantly stops the flow of gas and you don't have to do the old "quickly rotate the gas can back to horizontal and hope you didn't wait too long" dance when the tank is almost full like the old style.

Someone mentioned "infrastructure"... the go-to word for every politician! Here is a photo I took while out for a walk on the Provo River Parkway a few years back. This crumbled old mess it holding up a four lane hwy of sorts called the North University Parkway in Provo Utah. Wondering if has been fixed yet!?

They're probably just going to wait until it collapses, like the I-10 bridge at the CA border. Have the get the taxpayer's money's worth out of the previous construction job, you know.

Wasn't there some police force somewhere around the country that their local city council decided to get electric police vehicles, then when one of the police was chasing a suspect it ran out of electricity and had to stop?

Vehicle designers aim for at least 4 to 500 miles per charge. Hybrids are less of course. The average rv driver goes 350 to 500 miles per day. Having been in law enforcement, it is not unusual to use large amounts of power sitting still for several hours a day. Adding heat or ac wears down the battery even more. Larger vehicles are most likely going to be hybrids with the new battery technology.

Last year we installed two large CNC 5-axis machines to Nikola Motors, and I went down there to train them. They are very innovative. If you go to their website nikolamotors you can see what they are developing. It's a semi. They haven't started selling them as far as I know but they are definitely interesting. We heard that a large beer brewing company has ordered a number of them. They have a cool jet ski and a cool looking UTV, but the UTV is extremely heavy. I agree with all that was said, and electric vehicles have their plus's and minus's. I don't see in the near future that one of them is going replace my F350.

Also, the crabcrawl feature will make it easier to back into a campsite, as long as you don't jack knife the rig and damage the rear window or the tail lights...

Now if only GM would incorporate Ford's "trailer backing assist" feature....

Crab crawl? That sounds like a nightmare to keep those wheels in alignment for straight driving travel. Years ago Honda preludes had 4wheel steer. Don’t know if they still have that in cars or how dependable that system is

We had Coleman tugs with 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steering in the Air Force to move airplanes. It was "real easy" to fold a front landing gear strut or "permanently" bend a tow bar if you weren't careful what you were doing... One tug driver and 6 spotters plus someone riding the brakes in the cockpit...

I couldn't imagine using 4 wheel steering (or even rear wheel steering) with a fifth wheel. Talk about a disaster waiting to happen !!!!!
