Cool 2015 Chevy 2500HD (Gas)

Hey guys,
As the title states I own a 2015 Chevy 2500HD Silverado (gas) and tow a 2016 Cougar 32FBS 7700 LBS dry weight. This past weekend we were returning from a camping trip and encountered a couple of hills and the truck seemed to struggle a little going up the hills. I had the truck in Tow/Haul mode and we did notice a slight burning odor.

My question is instead of putting the transmission in D should I put it in M4 or M5 or??????? Would doing so help? Any suggestions/recommendations/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tim
