Refrigerator light not working

The light on our four-door Norcold has quit working. I pulled the bulb, tested fine. Test light said there was no voltage at the fixture. Any ideas?

notanlines, Howdy;

Is it still generating cold temps?

Mine is a Dometic and if the light in mine doesn't work the fridge isn't.
Find the control box for the fridge (outside where all the working stuff is),
remove the cover and there should be 2 fuses (at least mine had 2), a
10amp for connecting with the ac elect. side and a 3 amp. for the dc side.
The 3 amp is generally the culprit.
Hope this helps...

Start at the light switch. Cold moisture rich environment, not friendly to contacts. BTFT (been there, fixed that). BTW it was a customer unit.

Yep, the temps up and down are holding fine. We have been on the road for a week and things couldn't be better. I will pull the vent panel off the outside when the sun comes up and check fuses. I will check for voltage at the two light switches if the fuses are good. Now that I think about it, if the thing is running good then the two fuses are probably good. I'll keep you posted.

I started with snapping the switch about a dozen times and that did the trick. Before I break one of these switches getting it out, does anyone know how it comes out? I can get my knife blade under the edge, but I don't want to force it.

I think this is the correct switch: Norcold Door Light Switch 623918. It's kind of "pricey" at $37 at this site: http://norcoldparts.com/norcold-door...0-1210-models/

Hopefully you can find it by part number cheaper somewhere else !!!

Here's a picture. From the way it looks, it's a "friction tab snap in" type switch

Thanks John. Lately the units I've been working on have been domestics or residential.

Many thanks to all. I took both switches out and found nothing wrong. After this little glitch I can' t seem to compare with the slides ripping out part of the wall. We are lucky ducks!
