Mounting Battery Cutoff Switches?

Hello - I'm a new owner of a 2008 Passport. Two batteries wired in parallel. I've had problems with the batteries draining while it's been stored - so I'd like to install a couple of battery cutoffs. I can buy the ones that attach right to the battery posts - but they're about $25+ each. There are several options on Ebay that are much cheaper - but that require them to be mounted 'somewhere'.

Both batteries (obviously) mounted side by side on the tongue behind the propane tanks. I assume I'd want to mount these somehow so they'd be weatherproof?

Any ideas?

i have dual 6v and mounted a 250A class T fuse and perko switch inside the pass through compartment and routed the battery cables (now #0welding cable) into the pass through then on to the interior. perko makes one switch that will support two seperate battery banks feeding one circuit.

Has anyone found a battery shut off they are really happy with? I've been looking on ebay and at a couple local RV parts places. All I can find is what looks like a really cheaply made switch. I'd prefer to have something that has an electrical box and a good solid on/off switch vs. a basic version..

Perko and blue sea make excellent cutoff switches. they are rated for 300+ A continous, 500+A intermittent. Some RV dealers carry them, but almost any boat shop has them. If not you can order them from West Marine. IMHO I'd stay away from no name stuff on ebay for a cutoff switch.

I have been happy with this one which is mounted in the left side storage compartment on my 5ver http://www.harborfreight.com/heavy-d...tch-66789.html When we had our last TTer I mounted this one in the battery box by drilling a hole in the side of an extra large battery box that I bought which had enough room for it. On our 5ver the back of it is just above the battery in the front storage area. I switched the negative side of the battery which I thought was safer. I have used this one from Northern Tool for 10 years and it has worked fine.
