Grey water tank

Is is possible to upsize my grey water tank in my 2014 21RBS? 28 gallons for a long weekend just doesn’t cut it. My much smaller 19’ TT that I sold to get this one had 35 gallon so I’m disappointed it’s so so small.

I have the same size. I just use a blue tote tank. A little extra work but it works.

Yeah, I know that’s an option but was hoping for a more permanent solution. I know anything’s possible but that may be my best option. I was just surprised to find my tank smaller than my previous unit. Thanks

Where there's a will there's a way. Now that's an old saying, but it still holds true.

OP,

Your 21RBS "should have" two gray tanks ???

If so, you can buy a "terminal valve" to fit on the trailer dump outlet, close that valve and open both gray tank valves. That will allow the contents of BOTH gray tanks to equalize between the tanks...

Many people who boondock regularly find that their bathroom gray tank fills much faster than the galley tank. That's because most of the cooking/dishwashing goes on outside and the galley tank is sometimes completely empty when the bathroom tank is full.

Equalizing the tanks (allowing the waste water to flow between the tanks until they have the same level) will often double the amount of available bathroom gray capacity...

DON'T TRY TO EQUALIZE THE BLACK TANK !!!!! Doing so will make a smelly mess if any of the sink traps, HEPVO valves or air admittance valves are defective. Plus, if something "gooey and larger than normal gets pushed into a gray tank, you only have a 1.5" rather than a 3" plumbing run to try to flush it back out....

I wish it was true bit I’m confident that my 2014 21RBS only has one grey water tank.

I also have another problem. My tank flush doesn’t work. I’ve already replaced the vacuum breaker/check valve and it didn’t work. And don’t get me started on the piece of crap (literally) tank sensors that never seem to work. I know, I need a little cheese with the whines.

if you've owned another trailer you already know the sensors typically quit working on day one.
assuming your second question relates to your black water just keep filling and when it starts to 'burp' dump.

as for the gray water tank, drop the bottom and see it you can get another tank that will conform to the space....good luck on that though.

Hum,.... my 2013 21RBSWE has 2 grey's.... each having it's own discharge valve.

Are you dry camping without hookups? If so,... and not parked right next to someone..... water the forest floor!!!!

Here's a link to the specs on that trailer that would indicate one grey tank if correct;

https://www.rvusa.com/rv-guide/2014-...-21rbs-tr18656

I had a 2014 Cougar High Country 319rls which is not the same as the xlite, and was much larger, but it did have 2 grey tanks.

Actually, a 2014 21RBS shows to have 76 gallons of gray capacity, according to the specs on the Keystone site. https://www.keystonerv.com/historica...262&label=2014

Conflicting specs. Imagine that.

Sounds like it might be the difference between the the western edition and non-WE.

That is 21RBS, the OP's, and the specs of a 21RBSWE?

Gray water? There is an adapter for a garden hose that I use when boondocking out in the middle of nowhere. Move it around the trees and bushes and try not to create a mudhole.

Flush circuit

You said you replaced the vacuum breaker to the black tank as a possible cure, but did you check if the original was installed backwards? If all you did was was remove the original and insert the new one, you should start over.

We own a 2012 21RBSWE. It definitely has two grey water tanks each at 38 gal. It is probable the western version is set up different than the eastern version. But I bet the underbelly layout is the same and has space for a second 38 gal tank. I like the idea of tying them together but have not decided to tackle that project yet.

Would you have a link to one of these valves. Not sure what you mean . My keystone 293 UBH has two grey tanks but has two separate valves. The kitchen one is under the slide out and to make things more difficult the pull is so far in I almost have to get on my back to pull it, (good thing kids were invented) ideally i want to connect both greys together and use only the valve at the rear of the camper. Hope to get around to that soon

We had a 2017 Cougar 21RBS. It had one grey, one black tank. So does our 2019 22RBS. Ours has the front window, so I'm supposing it is an "Eastern Edition".
