Yeah, they're supposed to button the exterior up tomorrow, but they've told us 30-45 days before it's ready to move in.
Although I'm not holding my breath, we were told 30-45 days from start to finish, and that was in early Sep.
I'd rather not try to rush any of it though. I'll gladly let them take their time and try to hopefully do some nice quality work getting things finished up.

If you have the time then I would say don't push them. Don't let them put you on the back burner but don't push them hard.
The first house we built I was under a timeline because my company only paid 3 months for our temporary room and board. My boss (thankfully) let us stretch that to 6, but, due to that I was on my contractors back mercilessly. I was there every evening to check the work but I ultimately paid a price. He had to get different painters, different wood finishers etc. from the ones I had gotten to see work from to try to stay within my timeframes (he had initially told me no problem). Got some not so fantastic wallpaper work, a few spots of splotchy staining etc. Didn't have time to make him redo it so I did after we moved in. Anyway, sounds like you're on the right track. Good luck.

We're staying rent free with my dad right now. It's not quite ideal but we're welcome as long as we want and it's...FREE! We're putting back the equivalent of a house payment each month so the time is technically good for us. We're just ready to have our own space again, and it's clear that my daughter doesn't feel like she's "home" here. We had really hoped to spend Christmas in our new house, but it's not gonna happen.
Don't get me wrong, though. We're VERY grateful for the place to stay!
As to the shoddy work...I paid a "professional" to do some painting, scrape popcorn and mud/paint ceiling, etc in our old house in the living room and kitchen. They took many times longer than promised. Didn't clean up after themselves, got dust all over the place, etc. I was constantly going behind them and fixing runs, or doing work myself (such as scraping the ceiling) too to either try making it right, or speed it up. The popcorn wasn't your typical water soluble soft stuff. It was sort of like a blown on plaster or something. Not sure exactly what it was but it looked like popcorn ceilings but was very difficult to scrape off.
I could have done it all myself, but the idea was to pay someone and get it done faster. I'll have a hard time paying for work I can do ever again after that debacle. Anyway, I hear you there! Having the right crew on the job makes all the difference.

Oh. Also, the sod we laid is centipede. I prepped the soil well. I removed all grass, tilled up every square inch, raked it out, and wet it down before we laid the sod. I watered it in heavily, then continued to water heavily for two weeks, after which I started weening it off the water (established centipede only needs 1 inch per week).
I laid the sod myself, but I have a friend in landscaping who ordered it for me and arranged delivery. I asked him his opinion on whether I can overseed it this early to deal with some of the dead patches. He sent this picture to the sod farm, and with no fuss they agreed to warranty the sod, I'm getting SEVEN more pallets absolutely free. Delivered too.
That'll be enough to replace the rough looking patches, finish a few areas I wasn't able to sod the first time, and fix a few dead patches for my wife's granddad next door!

That is looking really good! Lots of work but looks like it is paying off now. Did you happen to install a sprinkler system in the yard? Asking because having one is a godsend for us. Spent my whole life thinking I liked "working in the yard" and would never have automated sprinklers. Then, one day maybe 25 years ago I just decided to have one installed. Pure joy from day 1. Hopefully you did but not bad to install if you want one....if you ever do.
What am I thankful for today? I found a fridge!!!!

On that last line, I understand your pain!
About a week ago, our washing machine gave up the ghost. We had a REALLLLLY hard time finding one in stock anywhere. Most models and most places were back ordered a month or two. Just wasn't willing to wait that long!
We finally found ONE at Home Depot in what they called "overhead" which they would not sell. I don't exactly know what overhead is. But, I was like you have a washer that isn't spoken for, I need one, I have money, please let me buy it. Lol. I finally talked them into letting us bring it home.
Anyway, in response to your question, kind of. If you look in my photo I'll attach, to the right side of the driveway is an irrigation system that was already in place on this lot. It uses a Rainbird controller, Rainbird valves, and Rainbird 5200 rotors with head to head coverage. Very well put together.
On the other side of the driveway, I do not yet have irrigation. Although I did run several sleeves under the driveway so I can tap into the water lines for the system that's already there. The controller has a few potential open zones.
On that left side, for now, I have put together what I call an "above ground irrigation system". I used two 4 valve hose end timers, 3/4 hoses, and impact sprinklers to build that. I was able to get 40' of throw out of the impacts. That ALMOST reaches the road. Good enough for me for now. I was able to hide it all under the pine needles in the shrub bed, and placed the impacts at the edge of the needle bed. After we removed the form boards for the concrete, I buried a 3/4 water hose and set a Rainbird MaxiPaw pop up impact sprinkler. I needed one placed where I couldn't hide it in the needles. For now this is all working pretty well. I also have a drip line on the shrubs that I run off one valve of one of the hose end timers.
