Dometic refrigerator leak (not condensate drain)

hi all... my dometic refrigerator is leaking water all over our floor and it's not because the condensate line is plugged. I can pour water into the condensate tray under the fins and it drains outside just as it should. Any ideas on what to look for? Thanks

Look for a crack in the condensate line before it exits the cover. Those lines become very brittle and will crack or split. Replace with a section of clear vinyl tubing.

It's Dometic DM2852RBFX init.

I don't think it's the condensate drain line, as I can pour water into the line and it comes out the other end just fine. I looked for evidence of cracks in the line and saw none.

The other piece of the puzzle is something I wrote about a while ago. Every time we extend the kitchen slide (which contains the refrigerator), we see wetness and an oily/greasy looking and feeling residue.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Bob, I’m going to harp on the condensate line again. I had the same problem with a small stream of water flowing across my kitchen floor. My frig is not in a slide so I was able to somehow get my big mitts up to the point where the condensate line attached to the drain port and replaced it. No such luck with my BIL’s refer! His was in a slide and there was no way to reach it short of pulling the refer out a bit. One trick my BIL did was to pull out the condensate tray, reverse it left to right and then placed a small container under the outlet (now inside on the right) to catch the condensate. You could try this to see if the water stops running across the floor. BTW my BIL used this trick for months before finally pulling frig to replace the heater element and drain line.

If it's not that, check for the ice maker feature. If you have one, it may be a water filter or petcock issue.

Good Luck ,

I think it may be time to look under the refer in the cabinetry.

Is there any chance your freezer compartment is melting the frost inside at the time you see the leaked water? As in you are intentionally defrosting it, or it's a hot environment and "somebody" is standing there with the door open trying to decide what to take out?

I ask this because both our present and last dometic, same model (ish), would leak water onto the back outside compartment floor when we defrosted the fridge to put away. I would have thought the freezer compartment should be water tight, but apparently I'm wrong.
