Have done this for years, started using the bleach solution but it was hard on clothing if I mixed it too strong, so I switched to Lysol concentrate mixture, won't harm clothing & to me smells fresher. Sprayed the faucet from top to bottom, the sewer cap, & the power pedestal lid while wearing disposable gloves that are thrown away after use. I've watched folks with rubber gloves up over their wrist that once they've taken care of business open the compartment & throw them in thereby contaminating everything by trying to prevent doing so.
We've sat & watched numerous folks in rental RVs use their drinking water hose to rinse the stinky slinky then connect it to the RV, when breaking they do same then put the power cord, stinky slinky & the water a in the same plastic bag.
