Gray tank overflowed onto ground??

Gray tank monitor said tank was 2/3 full, when lowering jacks to move grey water overflowed and ran out under camper. Nothing wet inside. Camper has 2 gray tanks and only tank under sink overflowed. With polar package installed not able to see if hole in the tank. Is this normal?

No it’s not. The waste tanks should be able to hold liquid to the top of the tank and if installed correctly at the factory should hold water until it backs up into the shower or kitchen sink. If your coroplast is held in by screws you can remove enough to peek inside the underbelly. It may be just a bad band clamp at the tank outlet.

From your profile, your trailer is a 2010 model ??? If so, the gray tank may have been damaged by a previous owner and what you saw is a result of a damaged/split/ruptured tank. As Chuck stated, the tank should be "water tight and not leak" until the water backs up into the shower or the galley sink.

Something is wrong with your gray tank. It may be as simple as a leaking band on a tank connection or it may be a damaged tank. The only way to know for sure is to inspect it.

As for the tank monitor, I don't know of very many people who have accurate gauges. So never, NEVER EVER rely on the tank gauges, expecially when the sink won't drain or the shower is overflowing... To do so will simply get you a wet floor and a non-responsive monitor set... They won't argue back, they just sit there "giving you incorrect information" and somewhere, the "monitor monitor" is laughing at all of us......

Hi. This may be overly simplistic but
1:did the tank dump after you unhooked the sewer line.
2:do you cap it right away?
If the answer to #1 is yes and the answer to #2 is no, maybe the valve handle got caught on something you were handling to decamp and it opened. Some take almost no effort to move.
Was the biggest amount of water under and around the dump valve? If so you have your answer.

Thanks guys for the info, I am going to use a camera scope tomorrow to see if tank is damaged. The tank did not empty completely when it came out. I added more water today and nothing leaking at this point. The water came out of polar cover behind the door and in front of tires.

Just FYI! That "polar packaging" you referred to is courogated plastic (plastic cardboard) with VERY little insulation above it so don't put much stock in it not freezing in "polar" conditions. It's the typical sales gimmick along with several different other gimmicks that sucker in new RV owners; polar, artic, 4 season, 1/2 ton towable, dry weights, all mean nothing of any value to you.
