One wrinkle on top of each slide
Just got up on the roof of my new High Country with the slides out for the first time. Each slide has one, approximately fist-sized spot, of loose roof membrane. Each spot is in about the same location on each slide. Should I leave them alone, poke a hole and eternabond them, or question the dealer?
Thanks.
One example:

Do you have cable slides? Check you motors for leakage.

Yes they are cable slides. Never had this type before. So I take the wood trim off inside to access the motor, right? What am I looking for?

With the slides in, you may be able to see the motors without removing any trim. Look for oil leaking from the motors.

Thanks for the link. That looks exactly like my issue. How lucky of me to get a unit with 5 out of 5 motors leaking. Like hitting a jackpot on a slot machine!

It’s a 2019. Bought it over the winter. Getting ready for our first trip in two weeks. Hopefully no more surprises.

If the trailer is in warranty, the dealership should repair it and depending on how the dealership documents the repair need/extent of damage, Keystone has historically approved the repair to include either "extensive patching" or "TPO membrane replacement on affected slides". The "key" to which repair Keystone approves seems to be a DIRECT RESULT of "what the dealership submits in the documentation" much more than "how significant the damage might be".... In other words, if the dealership submits 1 photo and a 5 word "TPO roof is damaged slightly" vs a "fully documented extent of damage complete with multiple photos suggesting future damage if the entire roof is not replaced".... Keystone works directly off what the dealership submits, so if the dealer "gives the impression of no big deal" you KNOW logically how that claim will be finalized. STAY ON THE DEALERSHIP if you want an appropriate repair !!!!!

^^^ John's right. Start with the dealership if you are within the first year of purchase. I was 3 for 3 on mine but the dealer took care of it with Keystone .

Thanks for all the info. I’ll get the drip trays under warranty, and then take care of the repair myself. I’ll clean up and flatten the bubbles, and then tape over them. It’ll be a 1 day job instead of 6 months on the dealer lot.

It doesn't have to be a 6 month wait if you have a good dealer. Mine was at the dealer 2 weeks. Mine got pre-approval based on my pics and they did a great job flattening out the bumps...a couple of them were quite large.
If at all possible I would let the dealer repair this

I'm with taking it to the dealer. If there are future issues with the repair, within reason, they would/should be on the hook to make it right. As was mentioned, if you have a good dealer it shouldn't be a 6 month deal. Work with them, have them schedule the repair, order the materials and drop it off the morning the bay is open for your repair. Hopefully you have it back in a week or so.

Hold out both your hands, one for poop and one for hope. Let me know which on fills faster.
John is 100% correct, your wait time thanks to Covid could take you to September to repair/replace. Go through the process, keep the tape handy, add trays to your cart.
Good luck, I hope they act swiftly as possible.

I had this problem and figured I'd get around to it eventually, but when I had my fifth wheel in for some unrelated maintenance the service department noticed it. They asked Keystone for approval to fix it even though the trailer is well out of warranty and it was approved. They patched the membrane (looks like eternabond) and added a drip tray on the motor. Zero cost to me for either.
Thank god for good dealers and service departments (Curtis Trailers in PDX in this case). Well, I suppose Keystone deserves credit for approving it as well.
Here is the relevant line from the repair order in case it helps anyone.

This is how I handled the "TPO ripple due to gear oil" from my BAL slideouts:

Yup, as stated above. I think mine are libberts and they also sent free drop trays.
