Bye Bye Generator ...

We are pulling out our 150 hr old Onan 5.5 generator because we don’t use it. For the last year, we’ve been happy with our off-the-grid Li-ion batteries and solar panels. We want to replace our dated automatic transfer switch with a new switch with EMS. We’ve heard and read that peeps are happy with their Surge Guard units. Without a generator and just an occasional hookup for shore power, do switches for a single application exist? Or is our only option a switch that handles shore and generator power? Thx.

Be sure to save everything and remember where things went and how it was installed. Very few people are interested in the solar you've rigged up. It would be a hard sell.

You don’t have to remove the transfer switch. If your going with a hard wired EMS then removing it may give you a little more room, otherwise it’s just one more thing to store. JMO, YMMV.
