No 12v Power

We are total newbies...maiden voyage is this weekend! When I picked up the Hideout at the dealer last month, of course they went over everything with me. The power was hooked up to 50amp service, water was connected to city water, and propane tanks were full. It's been in storage mostly...I've gotten it out a time or two to practice driving and setting it up/tearing it down, etc. I guess today was the first day I actually tried to turn things on with just the battery and nothing worked. When I press the battery button on the control panel, it indicates I have a full charge...but nothing works. When I connect my tow vehicle power, everything works. So...I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. Is it a wiring problem or operator head space and timing? Right now, there is no battery cut off switch (I think I'm going to install one, but it didn't come with one). Thoughts? Thanks a bunch!

It's a 30, but I didn't pull it out to see if it was blown. If that was the issue, I would think my panel wouldn't show a full charge...hmmm. Thanks for the reply!

An RV battery will only stay charged for a week or maybe two without a cutoff switch. There are a number of "phantom electrical circuits" in the trailer that will discharge your house battery. Things like the backlight/memory circuit on the stereo, LP leak detector, CO monitor, thermostat (if it's a digital one and is on) and any light switches that are illuminated with an LED in the switch. Also be sure the refrigerator is turned off as it uses battery power to run the electronics (LP does the cooling but battery power ignites the LP and monitors the cooling system). Don't forget to check all lights on the trailer. Often times people will forget to turn off the light in the passthrough storage and any other "out of the way" lights that you don't normally see when checking the trailer before locking it up and leaving.

Welcome to the forum from Southern MD. Finding a problem when you are getting ready for a trip is never fun. I think taking by the dealer is the way to go. Since your battery indicated full I don't believe it was a low battery issue. If it was you should be able to disconnect from the TV and house power and since it's been charging it would work. Prior to install of my cut off switch I added wing nuts to the battery so the parasitic load wouldn't drain it. Now I'm having issues with my switch being intermittent. Pounding on it helps it reconnect. I don't suggest that in your case. Good luck. Let us know what you find.
