How to get antifreeze in my Keystone Laredo Model 292 5th wheel

So I drained all the water, bypassed the hot water tank, instead of putting antifreeze in the fresh water tank I have a hookup for antifreeze where my dump valves are located and a handy bypass valve where it connects directly to the water pump. I hooked a garden hose into a gallon of antifreeze, threw the bypass valve, turned the water pump on, and opened a cold water faucet in the kitchen. Nothing came out and no antifreeze was drained from the bottle. All the other valves are closed. Any ideas please?

Are you sure you are connected to the proper inlet on the water pump ?

I just winterized my Laredo 294RK yesterday and my antifreeze hose was already connected to the water pump, installed from the factory. You may want to get to the water pump and make sure there isn't another access or maybe your docking station connection isn't hooked up correctly. Your dealership service dept should be able to help with this.

Same here, antifreeze hose already prepped and added right at the water pump along with a valve to turn to use it, behind an access panel in the cargo bay of the 312RE. Exact length hose to put it in a gallon jug of pink stuff. Reach slightly further into the opening and there's the two valves for water heater bypass...

You may want to look closely at the area right around the water pump. If you see a valve there, follow the hose coming out of it. It may just be tucked under something and not easy to notice it's a short open ended hose, ready to use.

Reading more carefully you're saying you found the hose, threw the valve and the water pump didn't suck pink stuff? Check to make sure there isn't a kink in it (mine was routed poorly and has a permanent kink near the value but it's not completely collapsed and works), and if there's air in it, sometimes the pump doesn't want to prime... Pour a little water into the hose and see if the pump grabs it,

There must be another valve to the fresh water tank that you shut off, I believe. Did you do this?. Otherwise, you are sucking air

It might be that you just can't get it to prime from the jug of antifreeze. This happened to me so I raised the end of the hose higher than the intake , stuck a funnel unto the end of the hose and poured in the antifeeze while running the pump and it flowed to the faucets. Have a person pouring while another is inside turning the faucets on and off.

Worth a try.

sduff.... how did you gain access to your fresh water tank and pump? I cant figure out how to do it on my 2014 294RK

Can't quite figure out what you did.... You shouldn't have to hook up a garden hose anywhere. No need for it. Hopefully there should be a small plastic hose laying loose on the floor where the bypass valve it and you stick that in the jug of anitfreeze and turn on the pump.

I have an '08 Cougar and it never came with a winterization bypass on my water pump. You can buy kits and install them yourself and I believe many of the newer models come with the winterization kit already attached in some way to their pump. Mine did not and I did not buy the kit. I have to remove the line from the pump to the FW tank and hook a small section of hose from that intake to a container of pink stuff.

So in my case and in some other instances, a small section of extra hose is necessary as there was no built-in winterization "kit" or accessory.
