Rookie problem

Someone didn't hitch our new Cougar 27RKS properly to his truck hitch and pulled it a few hundred feet down the road before it let go and Cougar fell back into tailgate. (Of course the tailgate was damaged.) Question is: A medium blue colored rubber-like plug (about 2") was found in the bed of the truck, cracked in two. We need to know where it came from and what purpose does (did) it serve? A camping trip is planned in the near future, so should this be fixed before towing it anywhere? Thanks for any help.

Someone?. Are you not sure who did this? Was the plug already in the truck? Is there a hole in the camper that this plug might fit with a wire hanging out?

What kind of truck Ford,Ram GM? Did the truck come with a Reese under body frame hookup?

The plug maybe for a blank hole in the bed or tailgate to run wires or what ever thru so you dont have to do any drilling.Just my 2 cents
