Question on Charging Batteries with Disconnect Off

Can I charge the batteries with the disconnect in off position with the converter in the RV or do I have to turn the battery discount back on when I want to charge the batteries?

Your disconnect, at the least, should remove the battery from the converter. Some disconnects leave the attachment to the slides and landing gear (most of those are direct battery connections and don't go through the converter). If you want to charge your battery with the converter, you'll need to put the disconnect into the "ON" position to re-establish the electrical pathway for the charger circuit...
