tire age

i was looking at the dot rating on the tires did not understand what the
numbers were.
I have a 2011 wanted to see what date of tires the dealer put on
and how long i can run them,is 5 years from dot date sound right,i
think i saw that somewhere on this fourm but can't find it now.

I don't know about the numbers, but I usually get about 3 years out of mine. I do live in the Phoenix area and that hot summer black top is brutal on trailer tires.

Look for the marking on one side that starts with DOT and follows with a bunch of letters and numbers. The last 4 numbers are the date of manufacture; first the week number and then the year. For example if the last four numbers are 1609, that means the 16th week of 2009.
