refrigerator fan

Hi my name is Bennett and this is my first post to this forum. I have a 2011 Keystone Outback. The refrigerator fan comes on for about a minute and then stops for about 30 seconds and back on again. Can someone tell me if their RV does the same. I contacted the dealer by phone and the service manager said this is normal. Appreciate your comments.

Will be interested in replies. Our new one runs, then shuts off for about 5 secs, then runs again. Repeats all day and night. Irritating at night while trying to sleep.

I'm guessing that you both have the fridge in a slide-out. (or no roof vent) If that is so there is a fan that is thermostatically controlled and will cycle on and off frequently in hot weather to vent the heat from the area behind the fridge. If I had one of these I would try a quieter after-market fan to boost air flow and switch it on when it was hot out or at night to stop cycling noise. If you do a forum search .. One of our members used a computer fan to increase the efficiency of his fridge but the same thing should help your problem.

I have a Cougar MKS326 and the fan stays on most of the time in warmer weather. The only complaint is the fan is loud. I have been wondering if he blades are actually turning or if the blades are jammed.

Our fridge is not on the slide out part. Will have to ask my husband if it has a vent.

I am so glad someone asked this question, not to get too happy, but I forgetting to post that question . The fridge is always doing the same thing and I was worried it wasn't working right. I will also have to check for a roof vent.

I have a 326MKS and my frig fan runs all the time when it is hot. It is also noisy. I do alot of dry camping and I think this fan sucks on the battery. I am trying to find some sort of solar thing that will let the fan run and not draw from the battery. I was told this fan only draws .5 amp when running.
