2016 Passport 2810BH

Hello all I found this forum and joined today I am sure there’s tons of useful information can’t wait to jump on in!

Just purchased a New Keystone 2016 Passport 2810BH that will be transported to my location this week. I’m very excited indeed as I plan on surprising the family it’s my little secret for just a bit longer.

Rented an Outback back in 2012 we had such a great time and ever since then I just couldn’t get the idea out of my head, in fact last year I almost purchased the same model but timing wasn’t right.

Purchased the Passport due to our experience spending one week in the Outback. Figured if the rental could handle the abuse of first timers then Keystone would be the brand I would look at in the future.

Now I did a few upgrades to the Passport (let me know what you think?)

Upgraded to a power tongue jack VS hand cranking
Upgraded from 13500 to 15000BTU AC unit
Upgraded to a sway system VS none
Upgraded the slide to include a slide awning cover
And lastly purchased a 7 year warranty

Angelo

We had a 2011 25' passport BH. Loved it but out grew it. Bought 2016 35' Passport BH with 2 slides this year. Great trailers. You'll love it. Especially with your upgrades

You've got a good unit for what you have planned. You are going to have lots of fun and I know you are excited to spring the good news on the family. The upgrades you made are all worthwhile and will make your camping experience more fun.

TP holders are not usually part of the "standard equipment" on RV's and owners are left to purchase their own. The thinking is that this practice allows buyers to "accessorize" their bathroom with whatever style of TP holder they like.

Some folks prefer the free standing type while others go for the wall-mounted variety.

The choice is yours.

I would wait for a couple of camping trips to see which location would be best. What "seems like a good spot" may turn out to be the only place that gets wet when the kids shower, or may be the only place to hang a wet towel... Give it some time and study the options before making holes in your walls

We found a TP holder at Wally world that hooks over the door of the vanity. We can hang it out or inside the cabinet and is well within reach when needed.

Sweet, I will go on a few trips first and then see. Kids need something in close proximity to the toilet so I may lean toward a free standing unit like this one but time will tell, found this one on Amazon its made of plastic VS metal

Have fun with your new rig. That is one of the models we are thinking about. I currently have a 2014 238ML.

Welcome to the Board, and welcome to the wonderful world of being an "owner"!

Home Depot. Lowes etc... will have tons of ideas. Just evaluate your options, before you drill, or free standing, or none at all. Our layout allowed us to just stick it inside the under sink cabinet, on a dowel stick.

Our Cougar came with a TP holder - just wasn't mounted. Glued an oak 'cross piece' between the stiles on the inside of the vanity door and mounted the holder to it. Within easy reach, out of the way, never gets wet.

Congrats on the new camper. I have a 2015 and love it. Have done a few mods and more to go. I mounted the TP holder on the left side of the sink and a towel ring on the other without any issues.

Enjoy!

What other mods have you done? The 2810 is on our short list of potential replacements for our current TT.

I replaced the useless bathroom vent fan with a Ventline one and added wire racks to the bathroom wall for toiletries. In the kitchen I added a 6 outlet power strip to the wall under the window. Since Keystone decided to omit an outside vent for the range, I installed one myself. I wasn't happy to cut a hole in the wall of a brand new camper but it was worth it! I also changed out the stock light bulbs and replaced them with LED lamps. In the bedroom I changed the light above the headboard area with a double directional reading lamp similar to those on an airplane.

Outside I changed the porch light to LED and added an LED strip under the awning. I also added a Husky 4,500 lb power tongue jack.

By far the best 2 modes were the range vent and the power jack.

Lawdog130, can you describe the vent mod...did it require a new hood? My daughter has a Bullet without the vent.
Thanks

Bill-e

My range hood had a "knock out" panel in the back to attach the duct to so I did not need to replace the hood.

I took numerous photographs of the mod so I could show others. It wasn't that difficult but required some planning. PM me with your email address and I will forward you the photos and some notes about the installation.

Chris
