Yeah, my membership only cost me $44.00 too. Got my temp. number and left the next day for six weeks. Had the card when I got home. They told me that if I wanted the book it would cost me $5.00 to have it shipped, I passed.

Go to their website and look closely at the cgs you may be interested in. Many will say not valid on weekends, others say you can stay a limited no. of days, others are not valid during high season. Evidently each cg can limit the 1/2 price anyway they want. If you can work around them, it's a great deal.

Thumbs up Passport America Restrictions

We have it, and the restrictions depend upon the campground, but they are listed on the online guide. We stayed at a place in Florida, and their restriction was the 50% only good for 7 nights. We stayed 6 nights, and saved $21 for 6 nights, or simply, $126. Only trouble was they only had a few sites, and worst part is the site they had reserved for us was a terrible site. Fortunately, there was another site we were able to change to, and it worked out. We used it at several other parks, that only allowed 2 night this time of year, but that's not surprising since this is Florida's busy season. Even then, we would have saved more than the $44 it cost for the year.
We don't continue on our membership, only sign up when we use it, but since we just became retired, might be worthwhile to be full time members.

So, make it work for your trips, when you need it, and yes, it's great!
