I was wrong on the hitch but will it work?

I thought my hitch was a Reese hitch but after looking at it last night it was a Draw-Tite.
I don't know much about the brand but is is a 10K capacity and the bars are rated at 550lb, I assume tongue weight.
They are round and like an L shaped at the end.

The new camper I just bought just came out this year and all the weight specs aren't available yet.

The camper weighs 4,568 lb and I don't know the wongue weight. But my bars are 550lb capacity.

WILL THEY WORK? Can I hook up a sway control? Will it have to be one that connects to the hitch and frame?

Thanks.

Reese = Draw-Tite. Draw-Tite = Reese. Same parent company, websites are carbon copies of each other, and many parts are identical with identical part numbers.

The last time I bought a Reese item, it came in a Cequent box. Cequent is the parent company for both.

You might want to step up to 800# weight bars.

And you can use either companies' sway controls. I prefer the Dual Cam system.

Your bars will end up being a little to light IMO. As noted they are clones of each other

Ditto on the heavier bars and Dual Cam sway control.

Or, you can put it on e-bay, get a Hensley and not have to worry about sway ever again.

If your bars are two light for the tongue weight of your TT you will not be able to transfer the needed weight to the front axle. It is best to have the bars that are rated just a little heavier than your tongue weight. Example would be for 800 to 1000# tongue weight I would use 1000# bars over that I would move up to 1400/1500 bars. The 550# bars would just be a waste of time IMHO. For your TT you will want either 750 or 1000# bars.
