Yup, there is a filler neck restrictor on the 99 superduty pickup. It's apparently a followon to the same type filler neck that was used on the previous generation F250/350 trucks. My 99 superduty had the same type filler neck restrictor. I could fit a nozzle about the diameter of a "regular leaded gas" nozzle, but not the high flow nozzles usually found at truck stops. There was a plastic "adapter" that slipped into the fill port and had a wider opening so the high flow nozzles could be used, but the nozzle had to be held as it would not slide in far enough to stay by itself. It was quite a hassle to fill in the "high flow lanes".

Some people were simply taking a screwdriver and breaking out the restrictor, but then, they encountered flash back when the high flow nozzle would not shut off properly when the fill neck was full of fuel or foam. It would make quite a mess with foam spewing out around the high flow nozzle.

I thought Ford fixed that with the later superduty models, somewhere around 20003-2004..

It would be nice if a petroleum company or some company in the industry would invent an additive or a drop in tablet to reduce the foam.
By the time I fill my 56 gallon transferflow tank and drive a mile home , I can put in another 7 gallons from the jugs I keep around.

When I fill I use the first detent on the nozzle. Excessive foam doesn't seem to be an issue, at least when filling a fuel can. The level of fuel is always where I want it, and assume the fuel tank is the same, which is confirmed by the amount of gallons added vs the fuel gauge indication prior to fueling. At least that's the case with my Dodge and my fuel jugs...

I have used the big rig pumps a few times and aside from the hassle of having to go in to pay, etc, it sure is nice to be able to fill up in 1/3 the time. I have to have it on the slowest setting though as it will come back out if not (2014 RAM 3500)

I have made a mistake here. The outside is plastic and could be opened up the inside is steel but is big enough. Sorry for the mistake. I have been under my brothers truck so much lately I didn't remember & was mistaken.
