Where in Napa
Has anybody here stayed in Napa? Any recommendations?

Napa in particular, or the area? We haven't stayed in the city of Napa, but we came close to it when we stayed at Lake Berryesa. That was a nice stay, but the road from Ca. 101 was pretty narrow. It's also a pretty steep climb up to it. From I-5 around Williams is a lot shorter of a trip it looks like, but I have never been that way.

The Napa area, take the wife and friends wine tasting. I would guess there would be some nice RV parks nestled in the vineyards but no luck searching.

Though only meant for overnight stops, and more times than not boondocking, check out Harvest Hosts. I think WWW.harvesthosts.com, but check that, my memory is fuzzy. Yes, there is a joining fee, but you might be interested once you examine the hosts' sites and benefits. There are a goodly number of hosts in the western wine regions.

Never camped there. Stayed there several times at the Embassy Suites. Nice place. Recommend Platypus Tours. Great time - he has an airport shuttle style van made into a Limo. Takes small groups on personalized tours - picnic lunch at a winery. You might find something around Sanoma or further north in the Clear Lake area?
Just looked in our Woodall's - there are three parks in Cloverdale, just north of Healdsburg. Don't know if you've been there before - Healdsburg is nice - the wineries have storefront tasting rooms right in town. You can do a wine tasting tour on foot and the ladies can window shop at the same time.

Calistoga Fairgrounds RV Park
I've stayed at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga numerous times. A nice simple gravel parking area, with full hookups in a quiet residential area on the fair grounds. Just a few blocks walk to dowtown Calistoga to eat, and take in the mineral baths. I wouldn't stay there on a race weekend though unless you like plenty of noise.

Never pulled my 5er that way however, there is a KOA not far from Napa/Sonoma wine country, as well as San Fransisco all easy day trips from the looks of it. Check KOA website and try Petaluma KOA
