Dodge Ram Wheels on Fifth Wheel?

We just bought a used 2013 Cougar 325SRX. It only has three aluminum and two steel wheels.

They are 16" rims with a 8x6.5 bolt pattern. They have a 0 offset.

Dodge Ram rims are also 8x6.5 but have a 20mm offset.

Has anyone tried using the Dodge wheels on a Fifth Wheel?

RV's have enough problems without adding new one's on purpose. It might work, but for your best safety and stability of the trailer, get the correct rim to start with and don't try to fudge it. RVs are not like automobiles. They are a beast unto themselves. Altercations, even though slight, can cause problems you might not want to deal with. I advise, get the rim that's made your camper. If need be, go to an RV dealership that sells your brand and do it the right way.

However, welcome to the forums and sorry for a somewhat unwelcome first response, I know ... something you did not want to hear.

Welcome to the forum

I have to agree, I wouldn’t use automotive wheels on an RV.

I believe that even if the RAM wheels will fit the trailer axle, the wheels will probably be "hub centric" not "lug centric" and as such, won't have the angled "dimples" in the lug holes. What that means (when using the wheels on a trailer) is that you won't be able to use the lugs to center the wheel on the hub. So, when towing, you'll have an "off center wheel" that will wobble and destroy your spindle, bearings and races, probably within the first thousand miles or so. Next add that 20mm offset and you'll likely not only destroy the bearings from the wheel wobble, but you'll also "twist the hub off the spindle from the offset...

As stated, your best bet is to find some quality lug centric, zero offset wheels in the appropriate lug pattern and weight rating and install them on the trailer...
