Grilling Chicken? A must read
In this post there is a 3 page list of possibly tainted chicken products. Take a look if you have processed chicken in fridge or freezer. Nasty stuff!

Thanks George. I don't eat pre cooked anything but I know LOTS of folks do so this may hit home with some of them. I know from our travels that Tyson raises/processes tons of chickens.

Thanks for posting that. We don’t eat any Tyson brand as we have Other brands out here, and I don’t eat precooked chicken anymore.

My BIL exists on chicken fingers (I have never actually eaten one myself or nuggets for that matter). Tyson sells to HEB a huge grocery chain in my part of the country. Tyson is also sold in Wallys I think. If you read that 3 page list tucked in the article there was more sellers; perhaps rebranding Tyson chicken? Dunno as I don't eat the stuff but anyone with kids or grandkids will be more likely to.

Houston TV was reporting what HEB was selling in their deli that they made with Tyson chicken. Lots of types of chicken salad, sandwiches, etc.
I'm staying away from it, as much as I like HEB.

I imagine that HEB will pull any potentially contaminated chicken products ASAP. Hopefully.

1 person died over the week-end in a car explosion traveling from St. Louis, IL to Memphis, TN when the battery sparked causing a flame under the hood of the car and quickly transferred to the gas tank entrapping the driver. Death was sudden and quick.
So .... let's all abstain from driving any automobiles completely as they are health hazard.
Let's quit traveling the route from St. Louis to Memphis as it apparently is a death route.
Let's get rid of all our batteries as they can all fail, spark and cause electrical fires.
Let's remove all petroleum products from our automobiles, homes, RV, lawn mowers, construction machinery, and anything else that runs on it, as they are fire hazards.
It's almost as stupid, isn't it?

No, not hardly. You must have misunderstood something.

Not even in the same ballpark. Anybody that engages in driving, walking across the street, operating machinery should understand the risks involved.
The ability to raise and process your own food is something most people have anymore, therefore one needs to “take it on faith” that those that ARE processing our food are doing it SAFELY. I don’t see your correlation…please enlighten me.

I admit to being stupid but your analogy perhaps falls into the same range.

Thanks for passing this along George. We don't eat precooked chicken, but you sharing could definitely help others on here that do and who haven't already seen this recall.

I'm afraid I'm with George and the others on this. I don't quite see the analogy. They ship 10 mil pounds of possibly tainted goods to merchants in the state of Texas. It only seems logical that all products and all those subsequently made from those products be removed.

No logic to that analogy at all. How can you equate a single, one off instance with tainted meat that could potentially sicken or kill thousands. This is the very reason that there's government inspections, strict sanitation rules, and recording of when and where it was processed by assignjng lot numbers, etc. for meat packing plants. They don’t touch one chicken and hand it to a customer. They touch thousands or millions of poundsbof product.
I think this is an education issue. Read up on listeria and food borne pathogens originating from food processing plants. If it doesn't scare you then you don’t understand the material.

Danny,
I won't quote your post... Wouldn't want to be the cause of "personal injury"...
But, I'd suspect that you'll be needing to pull your pants down to remove it, if Susan sees your post and puts it where Terri would put it if I'd have said that

Good Lord Danny, whatever you do don't blame it on her cooking! BTW, I think I've been having the same symptoms!
