Need Smoker Pellets??

I know that many of the folks use a pellet smoker. So I thought I would throw this out. Meant to yesterday but forgot.

I was in Lowe's Saturday in Midland, TX to get some stuff. Always meander by the BBQ section if it is close and it was right on the way. Right in the middle of the aisle were the big pallets stacked with Kingsford smoker pellets. Different blends, 20lb. bags....for $5.49!! Bought a couple since I've never used their pellets but I always preferred Kingsford charcoal so we'll see. A darn good price.

In addition, several days ago I was in Walmart in Lubbock TX and walked by pallets stacked with Pit Boss pellets; 40lb. bags for 14.96...bought 2 of those.

Wanted to throw that out being that time of year is coming on and the prices beat what I've been paying by a long shot.

I’ve seen them advertised, but haven’t seen any in the store. Let me know what you think of them if you bought some. I’ve always been partial to Bear Mountain.

I used the Pit Boss "competition blend"?? They work fine in the Camp Chef I have at home but seem like they don't make a lot of smoke...or the blend doesn't impart much flavor. Have not tried the Kingsford; still in the back of the 4runner.

I've had good luck with Bear Mountain but have to order them in. Traeger has about 5" of wood dust in the bottom. Green Mountain pellets worked well and smoked well - 28lb. bags vs regular 20 for about the same price.

Over the years I have tried lots of different brands. Buddy sent me some Jack Daniels barrels pellets..a total waste IMO.

These are good, but maybe only a west coast thing:
