Equalizer bars close to frame

I recently purchased an Equalizer 4 point Hitch and I noticed on the brackets if I install them like the manual says the bars are about and inch if not less of gap from the frame. they are not under the frame, but I am unsure if this is acceptable. I'm worried about turns if it swings under the frame at one point or not. like the chain WDH do. Any input on this? Thanks in advance.

A pic of the setup would be helpful.

I've used the 4 point on 3 trucks and never had any issue with it other than noise until I bought the L bracket jackets. Are the bars running parallel to the trailer frame? My brackets always ended up mounted just a little under the bottom of the trailer frame and rested on the L bracket; they ran almost perfectly parallel to the bottom of the trailer frame. With the hitch design I doubt the spring bars would hit the frame if the head is adjusted properly. Did you see the part in the instructions about the "over" or "under" mount of the ball?

Thanks for your reply Sourdough. Yes I saw the over and under and installed for the correct one. I think I may have found my answer. I was worried about the gap but found an image that looks similar to my set up ( I don't have a pic of my actual set up ) and gap question. So I think I am set up correctly. IF you can let me know if this is normal.

The spring bars travel parallel to the frame.

That setup looks fine to me. Read the manual and lube the hitch where it says and it will eliminate a lot of noise. I liked the polymer L bracket covers vs trying to put grease on them.

X2 on the polymer inserts. Removed about 95% of the noise.

L brackets

Don’t grease the L brackets- that’s where the friction sway control comes from.

If I hear them, I know they're still attached back there!
