Sewer Hose Storage

I just recently picked up a 2010 Cougar 318 SAB and am learning what the rig is all about. There is a sewer hose storage tube that will just accommodate the hose without the ends attached. I've included a pic of the storage tube. Is this stock or an add-on? As it is, there is a bunch of assembly before it's usable.

How do others deal with hose storage?

Bob, It looks to me as if it is an add-on. I use a similar setup but with 6" pvc so hose connectors fit also. Many folks are using 5" vinyl fence posts that also allow the fittings. Hope this helps, Hank

picture of add on hose storage

The last 2 toyhaulers I had no, Or very small compartment for the sewer hose. I did this to both rv's You could put two 20' footers in there if you wanted too. Make sure you put small holes into the end cap because if you go somewhere at a high altitude. the ends will bulge out. I also drill into the pipe aswell. It helps to dry the hose.

Don't want to get off topic but with this last rig I got a RhinoFLEX 15' RV Sewer Hose Kit with Swivel Fittings. I would probably have never went out and bought it but it's completely collapsible and without question the best sewer hose I've ever seen. I rarely get a drop of anything on me and it fits in the original box that is only about 18" long.
