Battery Disconnect Help

I bought a battery disconnect switch for my 2019 Hideout 308BHDS and I’m looking for some advice on how to install it. I have 2 wires running to my negative terminal and I’m not sure if both wires should be connected to the disconnect or just one. I have one thick and one thin wire running to the negative terminal. I assume the large wire powers the rv but I’m not sure what the small wire is for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the small wire does either. But move both to the disconnect if you want to disconnect everything.
Personally, I disconnected the positive with ours

I would say connect both the large & small wire to the disconnect.
Personally I'd run a short cable from the battery to the disconnect then attach those 2 wires to the opposite side of the disconnect so that both are disconnected when not in use.
The smaller wire is a ground to some auxiliary 12 volt item that if not disconnected would most likely run your battery down. It could possibly be the emergency break away switch, which if so be sure to reconnect before towing.

Looks to me like he has solar. The smaller gauge with the fuse is the positive and the other is negative. If he has a portable solar plug on the side of the trailer that’s what those are.

Break away will always be on the positive side.

If it helps with wiring due to the tight space at the terminals of the switch, you can route all negetive wires to a bolt on the frame. Then run a cable from that bolt to the switch terminal and run another cable from the other terminal of the switch to the negative battery terminal.

That is such a simple solution to a crowded battery box - it's a no-brainer! I'll have to tidy up my harness in the spring. Excellent idea that costs nothing!
