Welcome to the forum!

Was just looking at your trailer layout and noticed that that unit is 39' long with a GVW of 15,500 lbs. A typical estimated pin weight is 23% of GVW. That pin weight at GVW would be 3,500 lbs. + Then add the weight of the hitch to get the total weight the trailer will exert on the truck. I doubt any 34 ton truck would have that much payload.

Actually having the trailer makes it easy. Visit a scale and find out what weight is actually in the bed of that truck. Catscale.com has some easy instructions on how to weigh your rig. Not trying to rain on your enthusiasim but being full timers I'm guessing your rig will be close to GVW and you will likely find yourself towing in less than ideal conditions. A trailer that size warrants a 1 ton dually truck IMO.

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on getting your Alpine!

Tip: Get lots of pictures while the camper is still new to you. In time, you'll notice something and won't remember if "that" was always there or if "that" is something new. It might be a scratch, or a dingie, or anything else. Lots of photos, document every inch of the camper, inside and out, will be valuable to you in the future.

Enjoy, have fun, and happy camping!
