2 Grey Tanks, 1 Grey Tank Valve?

Greetings, this is about a Cougar 26RBS. I assume both grey tanks come with valves and valve T-handles from the factory? I just assumed the grey tank for the kitchen didn't come with one... We've been camping all over the American West with it open, using an appropriate drain hose, etc, wherever we went.

Well this last trip, I stood staring at the InCommand Tank Level screen wondering, "Why on earth would they have two grey tank indicators if I only had one tank??" So I finally crawled under the rig, determined to figure this out once and for all. Peeling away the insulation and "goop" where I thought a handle should logically be, sure enough! I dug out about 1/4" of threaded rod!!

I ASSUME this is the tip to the valve handle and all i need is a proper extension rod (female threaded) and a T-handle and I'm in business?? I suppose these things unscrew themselves with road vibration so loctite is in order?

Am I the only one fooled by this?

Nah.

The front dumper handle on a 26RBS is so tucked away that even when there IS a handle on it, it's a devil to find. One of the things on my to-do list is to plant an adhesive dot on the undertrim to mark its location so I can find it by hand without having to get down on my knees and look underneath (a slow process at my age).

As far as the handle not being there, those things are just threaded on and manage to spin off all the time. You can get replacements at any RV shop for like $1 a throw. They come in black and silver, which I used on my rear gray and black valves so I don't mix them up (my paper labels are on the way off, too).

And when you put the replacement handle on, precede it with a matching jam nut that you can tighten against it so it doesn't go bye-bye from now on.
