Toy Hauler gutter - roof thing

Problem is with a 2018 Keystone Carbon 357 toy hauler. I bought the trailer used last year and have used it several times. I have notice some type of black flat plastic flashing that is coming loose in the rain gutter at the end of the roof line. I have not climbed on the roof to investigate it. I am concerned about it and wanted to get some input on what could be causing this as well as how to fix it.

Two pics attached, one is close up the other shows location on the gutter. Appreciate any insight on it.

I have several spots like that.. My guess here, it's caused by the heat from the sun heating and expanding the stuff. It has no place to expand other than outward. Just a guess based on my 5er.

That looks like trim molding. OE is cheap, cheap stuff and comes loose, stretches etc. Fix it or it will come out of those slots and beat the heck out of the side of your RV. Here's a link to what I think it is;

https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Trim/JR-...xoCDh0QAvD_BwE

You can get the stuff on Amazon as well as most RV parts places. Just pull the old out, get the old fingers all "worked up" and start squeezing it in. They sell 3/4" molding but I always use 1".

Edit: That link was to a 25' length, they make longer which is probably what you need for that top rail.

The link that Danny provided is for the good stuff. We use the 1” at work, and it’s easy Peasy to replace.

After reading the comments I climbed up the ladder and found that it is simply the molding on the drip rail that is split and coming loose. I'll need a 40 - 50 ft piece of molding to replace it. I was worried that it was part of the roofing. Thanks for the feedback and link.

We buy it in 100’ rolls. You might as well do both sides now, the other side will split soon enough.

I would do as Chuck suggested and replace them all...and I would do it before another trip. Earlier this summer I was coming back and my insert came off in the same place in the middle of nowhere while I was driving. One end tore off (back) and the front just let it whip. I was on a narrow 2 lane road with nowhere to pull off so I went about 20 miles or so. By that time that thing had whipped itself back up onto that strip and just stayed there. It stayed for the last 40 miles home and didn't whip. When I went to replace those inserts I looked at the side of the trailer and even though that was cheap flimsy plastic it had marred up the side of the trailer every time it whipped and hit it. So, just replace it all before something like that happens.

Look at the top of your slides also. My trailer had this trim failing there also when I replaced it last year.

I buy it in 100 foot roll.. Do not stretch the new molding when you install it.. ALso at each end there is or should be a screw.. Reuse the screw on both ends to anchor the molding in place...

I like the JR products 1 inch in 100 foot roll.. takes about 15 minutes to remove and install from end to end on one side of my fifth wheel

I've ordered a 100 ft roll and will replace the molding on both sides. Nothing above the slides. Thanks for all the input and feedback.
