There was a recall on many brands for awnings coming apart there and failing. It was considered a safety issue if the awning hit your head. Think it was in RV Life online magazine.

That looks like it hit a tree branch or something else and tore the fabric.

Not uncommon for awnings to wear thin and simply rip out, at all sorts of different places. No way to fix that. You'll just need to replace the awning with a new one.

Many manufacturers have recalls on awnings.... not limited to Keystone.

I would reach out to Keystone CS and to the awning mfg and see if there's any recall or assistance that they may offer.

The post in this thread from NC Camper addresses a recall for the awning. It appears to apply to 2022 models but it speaks directly to what appears has happened to your awning. I would be contacting Keystone and the manufacturer as has been suggested and push the point unless that tear is not on that seam;

Looks to me like the recall is for a seam failure. OP’s failure is not on a seam. Look at the second picture, the “tear” is in at least two layers at the same spot.

Right, the tear/rip is no where nea4 the seam.

The OP's awning appears to have been "torn through at least 2 layers while the awning was rolled up"... Probably from hitting something that scraped along the awning while towing. The recall is for an "electronically welded seam failure" and does not apply to damaged/cut awning fabric.

It might be worth a try to see if the dealership can get the awning manufacturer to replace the fabric, but I'd make a guess that they won't "bite the bait" on what looks to be a damaged awning caused by hitting something...

Keep in mind that OEM fabric is usually 3 or 4 times more expensive than aftermarket fabric of the same quality. Amazon and EBay sell replacement awning fabric for around $100-150, depending on the length of the fabric needed. Most OEM fabric is in the $500 and up range.

After looking at the photos on my computer monitor it definitely appears to be an impact tear. As stated, you can get quality replacement fabric on line. If you have 2 ladders and a friend it's not a terrible DIY project.

Check Shade Pro or Tuff Tops online for good quality replacement fabric. Both are good sources, I used SP & mu buddy used TTs. With 2 people with 2 ladders it's about am hour job.
Just don't let the roller tube spin freely or that hour could much longer
