AC quit blowing cold
The main AC in 2021 keystone sprinter quit blowing cold. The AC in bedroom is still blowing cold so trip is safe. Is there anything I should check for a self fix or do I just need to take to dealership when I get back

Get up top and give the evaporator and condenser a good cleaning. Just did mine and they were full of cottonwood.

If the compressor isn’t running, that’s the issue. What’s causing the issue takes some electrical skills and meters. If your not comfortable with that I would wait for a person that is capable. You don’t have to take it back to the selling dealer unless it’s under warranty.

We had a failed A/C years ago, and discovered that it had a 2 year warranty from Dometic, even if the rig was out of warranty. Might make sure that you go somewhere that can process a warranty claim if the A/C is less than 2 years old.

Thank you. It is under warranty but I hate the service department of the dealership I purchased from, so I just set the appointment up with a service department I like, they just are not a keystone dealership so I will have to pay

Well that is good news, as I stated above I am going to a non keystone dealership. From what you tell me I may not need to pay

I would reach out to the a/c manufacturer and tell them what's happened. They should be able to provide you with an authorized service provider that does warranty work near your location.

Brian, Saw you have Chunchula as your city. Sure sounded like Mexico!
Looked at your profile and that is in Bama? Just curious... do you have an EMS hooked into your power?

I have one hooked up now oddly enough you asking because just this morning I decided to actually hook it up to the power and that is about the same time we started having our trouble. Do you think it is connected to this? We have the protector with a husky looking dog that face lights up. I forget the name.
I know Chunchula is an odd name. More off a zip code than town in mobile county Alabama

I think you have a Hughes Power Watchdog. I think they sell various models/types. Did you install inside near your converter or does it plug in at the pedestal? Do know know the specific model or remember about how much you paid? Issues with your A/C may be related and this info would help those who know the product some insight.

It is the power watchdog 50 amp power surge protector + EPO by Hughes Autoformers Bought from the dealership I think for about $400ish it was actually part of the deal I made for the camper.
I am looking at it now the dot face is lit up but there looks like there should be two digital numbers in the bottom right corner that are not lighting up.
Oh and the dog looks like a pit bull not a husky

Out of curiousity did you try any other things that work off of 120vac when the A/C wasn't working? Just wondering if you might be losing one leg of the incoming power? Typically one A/C is on one leg and the 2nd leg powers the 2nd A/C. As far as the EMS causing it I would think it would either let the RV work or shut it all down but I'm not that familiar with the Hughes product.

The second ac worked all day. I didn’t notice anything else that wasn’t working What was really odd is the main ac unit started working at the end of the day

Sorry, not familiar with this unit. Is it installed inside the camper? Did you install it?

The EMS "checks power into the trailer" but once through the EMS, it doesn't continue to check power. So, for example, if there is a loose connection on one side of the power center main circuit breaker, the EMS won't detect that. So, as an example, if the air conditioners are wired, say with the bedroom unit on L1 and the main unit on L2, and there is a loose wire at the main breaker on L2, the EMS would see "good power from the campground connection, pass that to the trailer power center and L1 would work properly while the loose wire on L2 would prevent the main unit from working along with everything else on that side of the main breaker. If everything else is working on the L2 side, possibly a loose wire on the air conditioner circuit breaker would do the same thing.
I think I'd check all the wire connections on the power center. You may find a loose wire on either the main breaker L1/L2 or a loose wire on the back of the main air conditioner circuit breaker.
DISCONNECT/UNPLUG THE SHORE POWER CORD BEFORE REMOVING THE POWER CENTER FACEPLATE !!!!! There's enough "juice" in there to make you a "crispy critter" !!!!!
