Upgrading to a Hideout- 174RK

We currently own a Rockwood A122s "A" Frame pop up and are looking at getting into a Hideout 174RK. I joined here to research and gain information from other owners. We are not new to RVing but new to the Hideouts.

Welcome to the forum. Those "A" frame campers are nice but you're going to enjoy the extra room of a conventional travel trailer, to say nothing of standing up! Feel free to ask questions and enjoy your new camper.

Welcome to the forums. I've never owned a Hideout before, but the Hideout is a very popular model. You'll get good help with any question on these forums, so don't be shy. Happy Camping.

What will you be towing it with?
There a considerable difference in size, height & weight compared to your A frame.
DO NOT ask the rv dealer about weights or towing capabilities, they're there to sell.you something whether you're capable or not. Post your vehicle & the chosen rv make model & year for experienced help here that have nothing to gain from you whatever you buy.

I'm a pretty new Hideout 174rk owner too. Had mine out twice so far with quite a few trips on the books. Going to Santos campground in the Ocala National Forest next week for 5 days so the hubs can do some mountain biking. Mine was an upgrade from a tent - wow what a comfort level difference!! We've had to toughen up the latch on the murphy bed, it kept falling down while traveling and the screen door didn't latch properly, but that was a quick easy fix. The quality of the workmanship inside leaves a little to be desired, but it's a lightweight camper, so to keep it that way they have to use lightweight materials. Don't expect perfection, but it's a great camper. The counter space is probably my favorite part.
