Rear window won't latch
My rear window is bowed enough that the sliding window won't latch allowing the window to open when I'm towing it. I'm afraid of trying to bend the window frame as I might break the glass. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you just found this? How long have you had the trailer?
My current trailer had a few issues with the back window and finally go tired of trying to manipulate it. Took it in for warranty and the back window cutout was not square and the factory installers had just wedged the frame in then forced the windows to close. They had to pull the window and recut the hole.

Hi Danny,
I bought this from the original owner last December and have now only towed it 3 times and I'm just now finding this. It was bought new in 2019 so I bet this is not warrantied. I bet repairs are going to be a long wait and expensive.

If that window is a horizontal slider, could you not put something (wedge) into the window frame from the inside?

This would separate the frame from the glass slightly and I would then get it to latch. I'll look into this when it quits raining.

The more I look at this the more it looks like what Danny has experienced. It looks like the cut window hole is too small and they jammed in the window frame causing it to buckle. Since I'm the second owner the TT is not under warranty anymore. I'm betting this is something that I need for the dealer to handle?

I was looking at this bowed window again and noticing that the fiberglass panel on the rear of the trailer, and surrounding this bowed window, is also bowed over the entirety of the rear cap. The fiberglass panel is bowed away from the hard surface behind it. Is the fiberglass panel supposed to be glued, or attached, to something behind it? If so, maybe jamming the window into the hole has also caused a fiberglass panel separation. This may have been like this when I bought it, like the window problem. So far there's no opening around the panel to allow water access.

You have a “floating” rear wall. There will be a frame for the window, and removing the window takes 15 minutes and 2 people. There are centering tabs on the window frame when new and sometimes they get mis aligned. I would start there.

Thanks Chuck. So the fiberglass rear panel is held on by the window and the perimeter frame and screws? I'll have a look at the window.
