05 sprinter step install problem

I have a 2005 sprinter 303BH. The original folding steps failed and I bought a moride solid step setup. Problem I’m having is with the doors shutting when the stairs are out. I removed the threshold like the instructions said to buy it still sits to high and both doors hit. I pulled the screen door to double check and it didn’t help. Anything else to do before I take it back?

I needed to trim the floor bracket about 1/8 to 3/16” so that it would sit closer to the exterior. This allowed the step flange to clear the threshold better and allow the doors to close with the steps down.
