Hot water heater bypass.

Is this bypass in the open (fill hot water tank) or bypass.

1st trip out and couldnt seem to get hot water on either gas or electric. 1st time de-winterizing

That should fill your tank.

Did you get water out of your faucets with the valve in that position and the faucet set to hot?

Yes it worked on both faucets just didn't get hot

Takes about 30 minutes. If you turned on the electric without any water in it, you may have burnt out the element. Also some have an electric switch out at the tank, lower left corner. Have you tried LP?

You can be sure the water heater is full by cracking open the safety vent valve on the outside and having water come out of it. When you tried on gas to heat water, the burner was on?
