Husky elect. Jacks, is one better that the other as far as allowing tailgate down?
About to replace jack on Keystone Outback. almost 10000lbs. is one Husky jack better that another as far as being able to let the tailgate down while trailer is still hooked up? I REALLY NEED it to be able to go down while hooked up!!!
Thanks to any who may reply!

The clearence would be very specific to your truck, your hitch, and distance from the ball on the reciever to the tailgate and the ball and the tongue jack. So finding someone with all those matching criteria may be challenging.

Can you just rotate the jack?

As Chuck mentioned, can't you just rotate the head to the side when you install it? What size Husky you looking at? With a 10k trailer your tongue could weigh north of 1300lbs. I had a similar weight trailer and put a Carlisle 5k jack on it....slower than Christmas. Heard good things about the Husky and you probably don't need a 5k jack.

From what I've been reading, the holes will not line up. Hate to drill more holes and weaken the tongue.

There should be 3 equally spaced holes, just turn the jack assembly 120 degrees.

I tried to rotate the jack on my trailer and was unable, but I can't remember why. I would have been sure it was because the holes didn't line up, but based on the above, perhaps it was due to the sideways head interfering with something?
Anyway, I solved it on mine by getting a longer hitch (so the ball extends further from the back of the truck).
