Thanks, JR

Yep! I keep my spare tire and portable waste water tank on mine. Make sure you put anti seize on the lock bolt or you may not get it out when you need to.
I used self tapping screws to fasten it to the frame. 10,000 miles and it's still there.

I installed mine on the Cougar in August 2013. We've got 1 month shy of 3 years, 3 trips to the southeast and one "round robin" to the Rockies/Utah/Idaho and back along with two trips to North Carolina and several to Ohio. Probably 14-16K miles without a problem.

I also attached mine with 1/4" self tapping screws. Like Nagrompj, I'd recommend anti-seize on the handle, otherwise, if it broke, I'd order another one today.

It's "sort of tricky" finding a suitable place under the RV that won't interfere with cables, dump valves, outrigger supports and cross members, but with some "looking and measuring" I don't think there's any RV that it "won't fit".....

I remember someone on here, with our same trailer, saying they actually drilled into the fresh water tank, when they installed the BAL up front.

Proceed with caution.

It depends on a few factors. One is frame width and the second is the type of frame used. Check here for more info on models for your trailer.

The only place I found acceptable to mount mine was in front of the trailer axles. This location gave max clearance over bumps and dips.

Here is a post I made a bit ago about my installation with a few photos

I went back through my PMs and found the one from member chartrand, he has the same trailer we do and when he mounted the 28218, up front, the screws went into the fresh water tank.

Let me know if you get one installed.

Thanks,

-Brian
