Portland, OR to Durham, NC

We are planning a 12-16 week trip from Portland, Oregon to Durham, North Carolina….Looking for suggestions on places we should visit, best routes to take and anything else people would like to share.

Thanks…
Michael

Michael,

You need to give us a bunch more info on your trip before people could even start to recommend routes and locations.

Interstates vs two lanes, hookups vs BLM, National Parks vs private campgrounds, size of camper, are you OK pulling on 6% grades, how much time are you allowing for travel.

Start looking at a road atlas of the USA and sit down with your DW and yellow highlighter.

Once you get to Durham, so much to see and do. Duke gardens, Duke university, UNC Chapel Hill. 2 Large Lakes with state park campgrounds. depending on time of year state fair in October. Raleigh the state capitol is right next door. Old Durham with a great eating and the DPAC center. Durham Bulls ball team.
Just lots of great thing around this area of NC plus you get here through the NC mountains Great Smokey Mountain park. you are around 2-3 hours to the coast of NC.

Here's a hint...

When you come on a forum like this, ask for help with a particular issue/concern/question and get responses from other forum members, it is only right to acknowledge and/or thank the forum member who bothered to respond to your original query.

Common courtesy... but hey, that's just me. Common courtesy is uncommon these days.

Dang Hoss, ... throw a wet blanket on the campfire often???
The guy only asked his question a few days ago ...
For him to formulate a tentative route and list of places takes a bit of
time. Give him some time to formulate a responce to the questions that
were asked of him before jumping down his throat (as it appears to me).
