Cougar 299 RKS

When turning furnace on with the thermostat air conditioner came on as well
Had to take inside cover off the air conditioner and un plug it. Is this a thermostat problem Any one else have this probblem.

If you have the square digital readout thermostat, you need to put the fan in "auto" for the furnace to work without the A/C fan coming on.

If the fan is on high or low, it will run all the time when either the A/C or heater is used.

This subject comes up very often.
Is the A/C coming on or just the fan. If just the fan change the fan setting on the thermostat to "AUTO" and the fan should stop. Do you have an optional heat strip in the A/C?????
